Strategic Business Consulting

Ethan Feerst is a Technology Therapist, Microsoft Certified Professional and IT Consultant based in Los Angeles. He is a partner with IT With IQ, where he designs and delivers IT solutions for small to midsize companies throughout Southern California. He works on-site with clients, and also provides live remote assistance and service via real-time screen sharing to systems and networks throughout the world. Some of his notable consulting clients include Ballantines Public Relations, Realcomm, Urban Smart Growth and Neil Lane Jewelry. His corporate clients include the historic U.S. Grant Hotel (Starwood Luxury Resorts), where he developed and launched a customized online photographic archive of images and documents, fully indexed and searchable, to coincide with the renovation and re-opening of this century-old hotel in downtown San Diego. Feerst also created the video components of the “7ten” installation as part of the “Enlightened Development” show at the Architecture and Design Museum of Los Angeles.

During his previous life in the entertainment field, Feerst served as a consultant and producer for theater and dance companies throughout Southern California. He continues to serve as the resident producer for LA’s annual VA Holiday Celebration, a USO-style variety show featuring Jim Belushi and The Sacred Hearts. Feerst co-founded San Diego’s Sledgehammer Theatre where he created and produced over 45 productions (over 1200 performances), including 15 world premieres, six west coast premieres, and productions in New York and Los Angeles. Feerst directed Sledgehammer's productions of “Angel City” and “Seduced” by Sam Shepard, and “Marie and Bruce” by Wallace Shawn. He also produced and directed the company’s work for radio with San Diego's NPR affiliate, KPBS-FM. During Feerst’s tenure, Sledgehammer Theatre achieved prominent regional status and national visibility, and is now a well-recognized institution in Southern California, now in its 24th season. Under Feerst’s leadership, the company’s awards included numerous Back Stage West Awards for excellence in West Coast theatre, several San Diego Theatre Critics Circle/Outstanding Achievement awards, Drama-Logue awards for design and performance, KPBS awards for outstanding production, design, direction and performance, and many "best of the year" lists in the San Diego Union-Tribune, Orange County Weekly and other regional publications.

Feerst has served as a grant panelist for the California Arts Council, chair of San Diego’s Coalition for Arts and Culture, and as a consultant to the City of San Diego's Commission for Arts and Culture. Feerst studied film and media at NYU and UCLA, and is a graduate of U.C. San Diego’s Department of Visual Arts.
